Thanks for the feedback and your concern about me. The answer to
your questions is NO. Do I love everyone perfectly at all times and in
every situation? NO! I wish I did in the past. I wish was right now. I
hope I can in the future. But, honestly I am quite a failure at loving
people like Jesus did.

Your right. In the past, I was more concerened about impressing
and even manipulating people. I find myself battling it
even now. But, I know I am a work in process. I am further
along than I was and I will be even further along in the future. God is
constantly loving me by kicing my butt. I know I am far from perfect
and I am constantly reminded of it.

I am making progress and God has me in a perfect place to learn about
loving people. Daily, at my church I am embracing genuine people from
every kind of background with incredible strories. I am called to
love them because they are human. But, love is such a diverse word. It
can mean something different to you and me. Am I to love people like I
love pizza? Or, am I to love you like I love my wife? Sometimes love is
showing grace. Sometimes, its speaking the truth. Sometimes, its giving
a hug. Sometimes, its giving discipline. There is only one person who
loves perfectly at all times and I am not him. I hope I can
become more like him.

Thanks again for responding to the blog. I take a huge risk sharing my
feelings with the world. I am not afraid to put my name and face with
what I write. It is part of my process of letting down my guard and
trying not to impress people. I hope you can do it some day.

Are you really living like this? Can you honestly say that you show 'love' to EVERYONE you encounter, even if you don't agree with their lifestyle or the choices they have made? Is that your sole focus in life- to love each and every person you come in contact with? I sure hope it is now because honestly, from what I know of you, love was not your focus in the past. I pray you are impacting peoples lives for the glory of God; not impressing or influencing people, but TRULY IMPACTING them in a positive way for the GLORY of God.

Once again Randall you are timely and give us much food for thought. I want to share this, not quite a comparison to American Idol, yet relevant in a very similar aspect.
A wealthy collector commissioned a painting to be called "Destruction of the Pharaoh's Host in the Red Sea" from the artist William Hogarth, but he wouldn't agree to pay the artist's asking price. Hogarth decided to use his "artistic license" and turned in a canvas that was solid red. When the collector complained he wasn't getting what he'd asked for, Hogarth explained that the Israelites had all passed through the Red Sea and the Egyptians were all drowned in it.

Great blog--This is prevalent in society where style over substance and perception over reality reigns. I can't imagine seeing Jesus on the Dawsonville Hwy corridor(in His environmentally conscious Hybrid Auto)donning a fish symbol or bumper sticker claiming who His co-pilot is. We know Him for His perfect love, not his symbols.

Blog on, Pastor Randall

I do not know if everyone recognizes it but we are having revival!!! Not the traditional week long meeting with a visiting minister. I'm talking about where the Holy Ghost is showing up in our services and lives are being changed and the presence of God fills the church!!! Praise Jesus' name!!! Can you feel it?

What is especially awesome is that the atmosphere created in our worship is spilling out into the community!!!
How do I know this, I know by the different faces I see each week at church. People are talking and people are wanting what they are hearing about for their own lives.

I am happy to belong to Lanier Hills, the perfect church for those who are not!

Love and Prayers,
Dora Jarrett

Let us thank God all the time, not just when we are wearing a cross or singing a Christian Praise song. Let us thank and glorify Him in ALL our works. DEAR GOD:
I want to thank You for what You have already done. I am not going to wait until I see results or receive rewards; I am thanking You right now. I am not going to wait until I feel better or things look better; I am thanking You right now. I am not going to wait until people say they are sorry or until they stop talking about me; I am thanking You right now. I am not going to wait until the pain in my body disappears ; I am thanking You right now. I am not going to wait until my financial situation improves; I am going to thank You right now. I am not going to wait until the children are asleep and the house is quiet; I am going to thank You right now. I am not going to wait until I get promoted at work or until I get the job; I am going to thank You right now. I am not going to wait until I understand every experience in my life that has caused me pain or grief; I am thanking You right now. I am not going to wait until the journey gets easier or the challenges are removed; I am thanking you right now. I am thanking You because I am alive. I am thanking You because I made it through the day's difficulties. I am thanking You because I have walked around the obstacles..
I am thanking You because I have the ability and the opportunity to do more
and do better.

I'm thanking You because FATHER, YOU haven't given up on me
